Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 September 2025. These terms govern your use of this website and any services provided by Link Building Japan.
1. Agreement
By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use this website or our services. These terms apply in addition to any written service agreement signed for specific engagements.
2. Services
Link Building Japan provides editorial backlink acquisition, contextual link placement, digital PR, and related services focused on the Japanese market. Service scope, deliverables, timelines, and fees are defined in individual proposals or service agreements agreed before work commences.
We do not guarantee specific ranking outcomes, traffic levels, or search engine positions. Link building affects search visibility over time and results depend on factors outside our control, including algorithm changes, competitive activity, and the quality of your own website.
3. Client obligations
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate information for content creation and publisher submissions
- Review and approve content and publisher selections within agreed timeframes
- Ensure their website and business practices comply with applicable laws
- Not use our services to promote illegal products, services, or activities
- Not request placements on publishers we have assessed as below our editorial standards
4. Publisher editorial independence
All placements are subject to publisher editorial approval. We cannot guarantee that any specific publisher will accept a submission or that a submission will be published by a particular date. Rejection by a publisher does not constitute failure to perform unless we have guaranteed publication on that specific title in a signed agreement.
5. Payment terms
Payment terms are specified in individual proposals. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within fourteen days of issue. Work may be paused for accounts more than thirty days overdue. Deposits for project engagements are non-refundable once publisher outreach has commenced.
6. Intellectual property
Content we create for editorial placements becomes the property of the publishing site upon publication, subject to the publisher's terms. Client-provided materials remain the client's property. We retain the right to reference anonymized engagement outcomes in marketing materials unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Confidentiality
We treat client information, publisher relationships, and engagement details as confidential. We do not disclose client identities in case studies or marketing without written permission. Clients agree not to disclose our publisher contact details or pricing structures to third parties.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, lost rankings, or lost business opportunities.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate a retainer engagement with thirty days written notice. Project engagements terminate on completion of agreed deliverables or by mutual agreement. Fees for work completed and publisher commitments made before termination remain payable.
10. Website use
Content on this website is provided for general information. It does not constitute professional advice. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from website content without written permission. Unauthorised automated access or scraping is prohibited.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tokyo, Japan, unless otherwise agreed in a signed service agreement.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms take effect when posted on this page. Material changes to terms affecting active engagements will be communicated directly to affected clients.
